About Chemical Peels@headingTag>
Like everything else in life, human skin needs maintenance. A single VI Peel will achieve significant repair and add a healthy glow to the skin. It is a true, restorative, and painless repair of damaged skin including sun damage and acne. The VI Peel produces dramatic results without the deeper, more painful approach of traditional chemical peels, which is why double board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Suzanne Trott chose the VI Peel for her Beverly Hills, CA practice. The many innovations that created the VI Peel combine to enable the entire continuum of skin types to enjoy the benefits of the peel. For the first time, Afro-American and darker skin types such as some Asian and Latin skins can experience anti-aging and restorative skin care that was previously unavailable. The VI Peel’s wonderful results will last as long as skin care is maintained, sun exposure is moderate, and preventive aging with the VI Peel is performed 3 or 4 times per year. In between, skin care is maintained and optimized with an appropriate home care program designed for your skin. Schedule a treatment or consultation at Suzanne A. Trott, MD, FACS.
"Dr Trott is amazing! Best Botox in all of Beverly Hills. She makes it look so natural and the best part is she somehow makes it painless. On top of all that she is the sweetest person ever!"- A.M. / Yelp / May 13, 2017
"I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Trott! If I could give her more than five stars, I would. She is not only a stellar surgeon whose concern for her patients' comfort and satisfaction is paramount, she is also one of the loveliest people you would want to meet, and her attention to detail and the patient experience is unrivaled. We have all consulted with your typical big headed, arrogant, upselling, in a hurry plastic surgeons -- most I've met have been of this typ...e. Dr. Trott couldn't be more opposite! She is like having your best girlfriend also be a top-notch cosmetic surgeon who puts every patients' desires and satisfaction at the top of the priority list. I have had two procedures with Dr. Trott and if it is in the cards for me to have any more work, she is the only plastic surgeon I would trust. She has spoiled me, and I'd never be able to go back to those cookie-cutter, cut-and-paste guys who ignore a patients' desires and do what they personally please, such as give D size breasts to every woman who comes through the door. Dr. Trott listens to what you want from your procedure and does her utmost to give you results BEYOND your desires. Her aftercare is exemplary, and you will always be given all the time you need and you will never be rushed. Dr. Trott is also hands-on, and does not, as many surgeons do, pass off much of the patient care/interaction to their assistants. She answers all questions and does all aftercare herself, with excellent assistance from her very competent assistant Ady. I can't say enough about the comfort level provided by having a female surgeon when working on something as personal as sexual body parts. I am so glad every time I have to strip naked and look at my "bikini area" that it is "just us girls"! My level of discomfort would be much higher had my surgeon been a male stranger poking around in that area. Not only is Dr. Trott a stellar surgeon, the plus that she is female and not at all intimidating make her the perfect choice for surgeries in intimate areas and of an intimate nature. I am SO jazzed that I found her -- via a referral through one of BH's highest-end, word-of-mouth-only facial surgeons who also teaches at UCLA that a friend knew. He referred us to her, and she's changed my life. Do yourself a favor and have a consultation with her and learn what a top-notch surgeon and person Dr. Trott is."- B.C. / Facebook / May 11, 2017
"Best Plastic Surgeon in Southern California - Dr.Trott has ruined me for any other Beverly Hills plastic surgeon with the rep of being arrogant and big-headed. She is both the nicest, sweetest, most down to earth and approachable doctor I have worked with, she is also the most competent and attentive doctor a patient could wish for. The time she devotes to each appointment is amazing in itself! I have had several procedures with her,..."- W. / RealSelf / May 08, 2017
"I went today to Dr Suzan office for construction. She explained me in detail about my situation. She recommended that I really don't need any treatment that she can offer.Even though she referred me to other doctors that could help.I like her honesty sweet and kind explanation and the fact that she did not push me.Thank you Dr. Susan"- D.S. / Yelp / May 02, 2017
"My visits with Dr. Trott are great. She makes room for me in her busy schedule for Botox. She is always warm, welcoming and makes me feel very comfortable. The entire staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. I look forward to all of my visits, and would recommend Dr. Trott to anyone."- N.G. / Google / Apr 08, 2017
Types of Chemical Peels@headingTag>
There are several types of chemical peels offered by our office. The strength used will be determined based on the skin condition of the patient, as well as the aesthetic goals and desired downtime. Our office offers the following peels:
- Superficial/Light Peel: This is the mildest chemical peel. It is performed in a matter of minutes with only about 3 – 5 days downtime of peeling. During this peel, only the top layer of skin is removed, which causes the skin to immediately look smoother, more even toned, and brighter. These peels are usually comprised of alpha hydroxyl or beta hydroxyl acid, along with salicylic acid, glycolic acid and lactic acid. Usually, multiple treatments are recommended to get the best possible results.
- Medium Depth Peel: This peel goes deeper than a light peel and therefore, provides more dramatic results. This particular peel is usually derived from Trichloroacetic acid (known as TCA); it is a type of acid that penetrates deeper into the skin. A medium depth peel is used to treat hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and sun damage. Since the peel goes deeper, a patient can expect a longer recovery period and should plan ahead since the face can be swollen, itchy and red for about 10 days following the treatment.
- Deep Peel: This is the strongest chemical peel is the deep peel and is used for deep scarring, excessive wrinkles, and more serious skin irregularities. While these peels promise the most dramatic results, a patient can be quite shocked by his or her appearance immediately following the procedure. High-strength TCA or carbolic acid, or phenol, is used to penetrate the deeper layers of skin. Since this peel is more invasive, some form of anesthesia may be used. Following the peel, the skin will be intensely red comparable to a severe sunburn. The entire face will be swollen and then scab. Intense peeling will occur and the downtime could last 3 – 4 weeks, or longer.
What to Expect@headingTag>
Regardless of the peel used, the overall procedure is similar. The skin will be cleansed thoroughly and the chemical solution will be applied to the face. This process takes just a few minutes and a handheld fan is used to help decrease discomfort. During a light peel, the skin will tingle during treatment. A medium peel will produce a bit more discomfort, and a deep peel will require a numbing agent or anesthesia. The differences between the peels are the type of solution used, the number of steps taken during the actual procedure, as well as the amount of solution that is applied. A soothing ointment will be applied to the skin after the treatment. In the days that follow, the skin will begin to naturally flake and peel away.
Patients should avoid picking at the skin or trying to speed up the peeling process in any way because this can result in scarring. Patients should avoid sun exposure and keep their skin protected at all times. Patients will need to have regular chemical peel treatments to maintain their results.
