This sixty year-old woman had had subglandular silicone breast implants placed thirty-seven years ago and she felt that now, after menopause, not only had she gained fullness around her middle, but her breasts had enlarged and the size didn't "fit" her anymore. In the pictures on the right, she is three months after removal of her implants, Menopause Makeover (liposuction of her abdomen and flanks) and fat transfer to her breasts. 250 cc was transferred to the left breast and 310 cc to the right breast. Now she feels that her body is more in proportion and she looks better in her clothes, especially because this procedure has given her her waist back. It is common after menopause to develop thickness around the middle (your waist, or fat on your flanks and abdomen) and for your bra cup size to increase, and your breasts to become heavier. It is common for women of this age to decide that their large breast implants don't "fit" their look anymore, or that they are making them look matronly. They also find that since the amount of breast tissue has increased, they don't need the implants for the volume.
