Breast Implant RemovalDr. Trott discusses total capsulectomy and en bloc removal candidly, including when the capsule is thin and adherent to the chest wall and full removal carries more risk than benefit. That conversation happens with your imaging and your tissue in front of you, not from a policy.
After removal, the skin envelope that held the implant has to go somewhere. Depending on nipple position and skin quality, that means a simultaneous lift, an internal auto-augmentation, or nothing at all. Deciding this before surgery avoids a second operation.
Most explant patients are back to desk work in five to seven days, with drains, if used, out inside a week. Local patients from the Westside are checked at one week and three weeks on Linden Drive.
Most out-of-town patients stay within a five to eight minute drive of the office — The Peninsula, the Beverly Wilshire and the Beverly Hills Hotel are the three our patients return to, and all three are used to discreet post-operative arrivals.
