About PRP Therapy
Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Suzanne A. Trott is excited to offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to promote natural skin rejuvenation and hair growth. PRP therapy has quickly become one of the most popular treatments in the aesthetic industry due to its great results. The procedure separates the growth factors in your blood and creates the PRP serum. When applied to the skin, PRP stimulates healing to make your complexion stronger and healthier. When applied to your scalp, PRP can stimulate growth and reverse pattern baldness. PRP therapy is also sometimes performed in conjunction with microneedling in what has become known as the vampire facial. Contact Suzanne A. Trott, MD, FACS in Beverly Hills, CA to schedule a consultation and learn more about the benefits of PRP for your skin and hair.
Reviews
Ideal Candidates
Since it promotes collagen production naturally, PRP therapy is a fantastic treatment choice for rejuvenating the skin. Patients with deep wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and decreased skin elasticity are usually great candidates for PRP therapy. Treatment applied to the scalp can also help slow or reverse male or female pattern baldness. Speak with Dr. Trott about any blood disorders, skin conditions, or anemia to determine whether it's safe for you to undergo PRP therapy.
What to Expect
After you're comfortably seated in one of our minor procedure rooms, a small amount of your blood will be drawn and put into a centrifuge machine. After approximately 15 minutes on the centrifuge machine, the components of the blood separate and can be made into the PRP serum. If you are getting microneedling, this will be performed as the serum is prepared. The treatment area(s) will be cleaned and a numbing cream may be applied to help keep you comfortable. Then, the serum will be carefully injected into the needed areas of your skin or scalp. Once your PRP therapy is complete, a cold compress will be applied to minimize swelling.
Other Considerations
Plasma from PRP therapy promotes the production of elastin and collagen naturally to reveal younger and tighter appearing skin. Since it uses your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or adverse reactions is minimal. You can expect the treatment areas to be red and swollen following the procedure. Cold packs can be used on the treatment site to reduce discomfort and swelling. Dr. Trott recommends scheduling PRP treatments every 4 – 6 weeks intervals to maintain your results.
Natural Rejuvenation
When you have PRP treatments, your complexion will look healthier and brighter than ever before for a glowing, beautiful appearance. This treatment is perfect for men and women who want to improve the health of their skin or reverse hair loss.
