Allergan Implant Recall

Welcome to the breast implant apocalypse. Luckily I’ve never been a fan of these implants and don’t recommend them to my patients. To be clear, this is a voluntary recall for Allergan’s textured implants and tissue expanders (not Natrelle smooth or Microcell implants). This means doctors will stop using these implants in new augmentations. If you have textured Allergan implants and you are not having a problem, there is no need to remove them. Don’t freak out! However, if you notice fluid collection, swelling, lumps, or pain in the breast, you should speak to a medical professional.
