We're tumescing the area where we're going to do the dissection between the plane of the skin and the platysma muscle because it makes the dissection a lot easier, simpler, cleaner.

Please. This is going to be our submental incision. And now you can see I'm going... We've already created this plane between the subcutaneous tissue and the platysma muscle there. And now we're just opening it up.

Here's the tension stitch. And then here now the skin, it laps in this part. We're going to take out what easily comes up without any tension here. So the scar will be invisible.

There should be no tension at the ear to avoid a visible scar.

So the skin actually just kisses the other edge. With about a millimeter or two millimeters of overlaps so there is no tendency for it to scroll.

So, I'm putting a deep stitch here in this corner. Look at the difference now between the shape of her face and the jawline on this side versus the jawline on the other side.
